At present we have several children on roll who are allergic to certain nuts and in particular to peanuts. Children with this allergy can be extremely sensitive to these products, even through their sense of smell. They can suffer very severe symptoms possibly culminating in anaphylactic shock. Broadstone Middle School endeavours to be a nut-free zone. We would therefore be grateful if parents did not include in their child’s lunch box any:
- peanut butter or hazelnut spread sandwiches
- biscuits and bars with nut content
