Here at Broadstone we run a ‘House System’ which reflects the pupils’ commitment to the school’s ethos of the 3C’s - Care, Courtesy and Co-operation. The House names and colours are:
These names were chosen by the pupils, after much deliberation and then a final vote, in July 2010. Children are rewarded with ‘House Points’ for overtly demonstrating any of the 3C’s towards fellow pupils, staff, the school and wider community. The ‘House Points’ or HP, are signed off in a pupil’s individual Homework Diary and then posted into their designated ‘House Box’. Points are counted on a weekly basis by the Pupil House Captains and Vice Captains – of which there are five for each House – and when a designated amount has been reached, the entire House is rewarded.
We believe that the ‘House System’ not only ensures that pupils joining us quickly feel comfortable in their new surroundings, by becoming part of the school, but also encourages a community spirit with each pupil playing an active role in the life of Broadstone Middle.
